Paraty is a city on the Costa Verde, considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its wealth of natural reserves and its important historical value for the country. The city is an important cultural hub that hosts several music, literature and gastronomy festivals. Paraty is home to numerous indigenous, quilombola and caiçara communities, as well as many foreign communities.

Surrounded by the mountains of Serra do Mar, the city is home to dozens of waterfalls. At sea, the bay of Paraty has 65 islands and more than 300 paradisiacal beaches. Founded in 1665, the city has a historic center full of shops, bars and international restaurants.
